Since, we can’t come over and read our favorite bedtime stories to your children we thought we would just put together a list of a few of our favorite books. (Okay, I admit, I had a bit of help from a few moms with boys, but I didn’t want the list to only have girl books.)

The Bedtime Routine

My favorite time to read to my girls is at their bedtime! I love those nights when we are ahead of schedule with their baths and pajamas. Then we can just climb into bed and read childrens bedtime stories for as long as we wish. This is heavenly! We will pull out a big stack on books. Then, we’ll read all of our favorites for over an hour. We take turns picking books and reading stories. It is the one time of day when I can be with my girls and not be interrupted.

My youngest daughter has several of the picture books memorized and likes to pretend to read. My five year old already knows how to read to some extent and is trying so hard to get even better at it. And she is making great progress with it. She is so proud of her accomplishments and she is building up her confidence, memorizing words both by sight and by sounding them out. My husband and I thoroughly enjoy this special time together in the evening reading with our daughters!
