Depending on the age of your children you may want to keep your craft simple. Also, some of our projects were done at two different sittings.
I have given some basic directions to help you make these darling projects. Be sure to check out my fun lesson and activity ideas for each project.
Childrens Craft ideas: Paper plate crafts
Childrens Craft Ideas: Teddy Bear
Needed: Small paper plate, large paper plate, brown paper, pink paper, brown paint, wiggly eyes, fuzzy wool for the tummy, glue, and scissors.
Directions: Cut out the bear’s arms, legs and feet, and outer ears from the brown paper. Cut out the bear’s inner ears from the pink paper. Glue the small plate to the large plate. Then, paint the plates brown. Glue on the outer ears, inner ears, mouth, eyes, arms, legs and fuzzy tummy.
Lesson: B is for Brown, circle, 2 ears, 2 arms, 2 legs
Activity: Visit the zoo. Read a book about bears.
Childrens Craft Ideas: My Piggy
I love this piggy! He’s so cute!
Needed: Small paper plate, black and pink construction paper, marshmallow, black marker, pink paint, and scissors.
Directions: Paint your plate and the marshmallow pink. (The marshmallow will be the nose.) Cut out the ears from the pink paper. Cut out a set of eyes and a mouth from the brown paper. Glue on the eyes, ears and nose. Then, draw on the rest of the mouth and dots for the nose.
Lesson: Pink, P is for Pig. Please count the ears and the eyes
Activity: Visit the zoo or a local farm which has animals.
Childrens Craft Ideas: Homemade gifts
Make your Own Gift Bags!
Have fun decorating your own gift bags. Give them your own personal style for a birthday or holiday.
Needed: White paper bags, supplies for decorating (i.e. paint, crayons, or other craft decorating devices).
Directions: You may choose to keep it simple and stamp the bag. Or, cut out fun shapes and glue them on to give your bag a crazy fun style.
Lesson: The importance of giving and sharing with others.
Make your own Cards!
Make a beautiful card for any holiday! Your children will enjoy painting finger print flowers, cutting out pictures of birthday cakes, or adding a picture of themselves.
Needed: Paper for card, various paint colors for the flower pedals, green construction paper, glue, scissors.
Directions (To make the flower card): Cut out stems and leaves from the green paper. Glue on the stems and leaves for the flowers onto the card. Then, using your fingertips paint the petals of the flower. Or, create the card of your dreams. Have fun getting creative!

Childrens Craft Ideas: Make a Mask
Make your Own Mask
Whether its Raccoons, Bears, Cats or Dogs, just make your favorite animal. Have fun!
Needed: Paper plates, tongue depressors, construction paper for face, and glue.
Directions: First cut out the eyes. Then, glue on a tongue depressor for the handle. Finally cut out and glue the facial pieces on to the plates. Have fun bringing your favorite animal to life.
Lesson: You can teach your children some fun facts about the animal that they choose.
Activity: Use these fun masks to make your favorite book come to life!
Childrens Crafts Ideas: Painting
Whether you are creating your first masterpiece painting or painting your favorite shape, I hope these paintings inspire you for your next creation.
Paint a Unicorn
This darling Unicorn even came with sparkly fairy dust!!! It is just beautiful.
Needed: White construction paper, blue paint, white or silver glitter, Wiggly eye, sponge, scissors.
Directions: Cut out the construction paper in the shape of a unicorn. Then, sponge paint the unicorn and sprinkle it with a bit of glitter while the paint is still wet. After the paint dries, glue an eye on the unicorn.

Activities: Read a few fun unicorn books
Paint a shamrock!
It is amazing how the simplest art project can bring the most joy to your children! My girls are so proud and had so much fun making their shamrocks.
Needed: green paint, white or colored paper
Directions: Draw a green shamrock on a piece of paper. Then, have your children paint it.
Lesson: color green, three leaves on a shamrock
These art projects were completed by my girls when they were between the ages of three and five years old. I hope you enjoy these childrens craft ideas as much as we do!
