Childrens Summer Programs

Ready for Childrens Summer Programs! We start planning this all months in advance before school is even out. I want to share you with you several helpful tips to make sure your summer is well planned and exciting.

Before you start paying for summer camps and programs you may want to see if there are any family vacations or other important dates that will take up a week or two of your summer. So, start by marking those on your calendar first.

Good Childrens Summer Habits:

We are getting ready for summer by kicking it off the right way reading and homework schedule. Getting in a good routine is really important. You will want to choose the amount of homework and reading that is best for your children.

Personally, I don’t want to pay extra money for summer school. I love working both my girls and teaching them new things! So, here is our plan for summer programs:

The Childrens Summer Schedule:

Reading: At least 30 minutes a day (Girls Reading)
At least 30 minutes a day (I read to the girls)

Homework: 3 pages (1 math, 1 writing and 1 extra page)

Swimming: Lessons and swim team! Plus, we look forward to lots of fun with friends at the pool.

Outings: I look forward to some fun day to trip of learning and exploring!

Work: Yes, I will schedule time for myself to work. It is nice break and nice opportunity to promote literacy. Since selling Usborne Books is my own business, I am able to set my own schedule. I want to have plenty of time for fun and books sales! Plus, the extra money is helpful to pay for any activities.

Stop and think about what is important to you for your schedule. We only have so much time and it is important to prioritize and not over schedule our days. You may want to find for a program or a class that is important to your child.

Since our school year is so busy, I want to use our extra time this summer to explore and learn hands on.

Here are a few activities we are looking forward to this summer:

Parks
Bowling (great for hot days!)
Go bike riding
Visit local Zoos Visit Museums
Visit a Factory (car, cheese, candy, bread)
Visit a local farm
Grow a garden
Stop by the library for a free class and to check out lots of books!
Concerts
Beach
Festivals
Tourist Sites
Sporting Events

Remember to be sneaky and teach your children something related to the outing. For example, you will want to read a book about what your visit. Or, make a book with your kids about the outing. We love making books! They are not fancy just a sentence or two on each page with a picture that we took from your outing or a special drawing created by my daughter.

I hope you find this information helpful! Have a great summer!
