We headed to the toy store to buy new play sand and a few new toys for our daughters. It was very exciting!
Bicycles
Summertime is a great time to go for a bike ride as a family! Just purchase a baby bike seat and install it on the back of your bike for toddlers. Or, you may choose to get a bike stroller to pull behind your own bicycle.
Childrens Summer Toys: The Sand Box
Your children can have hours of fun playing in the sand! All you need is the classic green turtle sand box filled with sand and you and your kids are sure to have fun! Your children will love making castles and pretend cakes, or just hiding their feet and sifting through the sand to find their favorite sea shells.
Play Sand
White play sand is perfect for the sand box. Not only is it safe for use by children, but in addition the fine white grains won’t stain children’s clothing like brown sand does. So make sure you purchase the right kind of sand for your kids.
Childrens Summer Toys: Favorite Toys
The Lemon Twist
I think this is actually a gel jumper, but I really miss the lemon twists I used to have when I was a kid. It actually had a lemon on the end instead of a ball. I used it so much as a kid that I would wear holes in my lemon.
The gel jumper is a great way to get a workout even if I look like I am twelve when I use it. You twist the ball around in circles while jumping over it. So fun!!! I had to try it out as soon as we got home.
Hula Hoop
Do you need to get a workout for your waist and hips? Buy your kids and yourself a hula hoop. These are recommended for children ages three and up. If they are not quite ready to hula, then try using it for crawling through or try jumping into the hoop. You can also make up a fun routine twisting and twirling your hula hoop around.
Sidewalk Chalk
Play Ball!
Take me out to the ball game! Children of all ages love a classic game of neighborhood baseball. Grab your balls, bats, bases and maybe even a T-Ball stand if your children are a bit younger and play ball. The kids will learn to take turns, get exercise and have fun all at the same time.
Bug Box
Be sure to catch your favorite bugs and save them in a bug box as your new pet. My daughter and her friends love to dig for worms. They give each worm and bug a name. It is so cute!
If you don’t want to buy a special box, just use one of those plastic containers that you purchase fruit in. Childrens Summer Toys: Hopscotch and other playground games
Playground games are classics! Check out this great book from Usborne Books. First Picture Playground Games is filled with over 20 different games. The colorful illustrations make these new games easy to learn. You and the children will learn how to play marbles, hopscotch, skipping games, chasing games, ball games and more.
If you or someone you know is interested in making extra money, consider selling Usborne Books. It’s a good way to meet people while earning money to buy new books.
