Positive Parenting!

Positive parenting is fun and easy!

As a mother of two little girls, I’ve found that, while being a parent is often rewarding and fun, it is also challenging and sometimes just plain difficult. So I really love it when I come across fun ideas and ways for positive parenting.

Here are some fun ideas I have to help make life easier for all of us parents:

Children’s Pretend Gold Stars:

Children love pretend gold stars! As a parent this is an easy and quick way to reward good behavior. They are always easily available to anyone with an imagination. They come in lots of colors, and they are as sparkly as you want them to be.

I use them to reward positive behavior at any time of day by pretending to press them on my children’s shirts or shoot them across the room to them.

My girls love these pretend gold stars so much that they’ve started to give them to each other.

Positive Parenting with Kisses and Love:

My girls really enjoy being loved and kissed! One of my daughters was doing an excellent job with reading the other day. So, I kissed her head after she read a word.

She started cracking up laughing!!! She loved it!! Of course, she wanted me to do it more. So, as she read. I kissed her head! – That was a great deal!

Soon she was reading so much that I started kissing her after every sentence.

Finally, I had to just kiss her after every page. We had so much fun reading together.

I am so proud of her accomplishments.

Scavenger Hunt:

Children love to play but getting them to clean up can be a bit harder to accomplish. One of my friends told me about this great game she played with her girls to make it more fun.

Pretend you and your children are going to go on a scavenger hunt. Give the children baskets to collect the extra toys. Then, they have to find where the toys go!

I am sure they will love trying to win this game! Make a fun prize to give them at the end.
